Co-organized with Professor Dana Gooley the Spirit Sounds Symposium to be held October 10-11, 2019. This interdisciplinary conference explored religion and spirituality in black popular music. The academic gathering included two keynote addresses, two panels, and a concert featuring jazz and gospel recording artist Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles. This work included securing over $45,000 in grants.
